| Lyon reveal transfer talks are ongoing with Italian club
French outfit Lyon have confirmed the club are in talks with Roma over the sale of Miralem Pjanic.
The 21-year-old Bosnia international has been widely tipped to leave Stade de Gerland this summer, with Italian sides Roma and Lazio as well as Premier League outfit Tottenham all reportedly linked with a swoop for the playmaker.
Earlier in the summer Pjanic revealed that, despite being happy to stay in Ligue 1, he would not rule out a move ahead of Wednesday's transfer deadline.
It now appears a move to Serie A is imminent after Lyon general director Bernard Lacombe confirmed a deal was being thrashed out with Roma.
"I confirm that there is strong interest from Roma for our player and we are dealing with them," Lacombe told tuttomercatoweb.
"Am I optimistic about the success of the operation? Unfortunately I cannot reveal certain things, there are many things to define, but negotiations are moving forward." | | |
